Keto-Alkaline Protein Balls

While embarking on a new eating pattern (alkaline and keto) I felt compelled to make a version of my favorite pre-workout and in-between meal snack. It’s not just good sustenance, its my comfort food. My anytime I’m not sure what to eat food. My I don’t feel like making anything but I’m a little hungry food. Protein Balls!

1/2 C Almond Flour

1/2 C Unsweetened Shredded Coconut

1 Scoop Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder

4 T Hemp Protein

2 T Ground Flax Seeds

2 t Microbiome Mix  (optional)

2 t Prebiotic Fiber

5-6 T Coconut Oil

1/2 cup Nut Butter (Peanut or Almond Butter)

5 T melted Virgin Coconut Oil

Crunchy Mix-ins:

1/4 C Dried Dates

1/4 C Cocca Nibs

1/3 C Chopped Raw Pecans

How to:

Combine dry power ingredients, mix until fully incorporated. Add in crunchy mix-ins.

In a separate bowl, combine nut butter and melted coconut oil and mix until smooth.

Add nut butter mix to dry ingredients and mix until combined.  Check the consistency, does it hold together well? If needed, add 2-3 T water.

Using a scoop, gather batter into a ball.  Place on a bake sheet and once all the batter is done (optional to sprinkle with sea salt) then place in fridge to set.
