March 2021

Growing

I love new months, and to be honest new beginnings. Something about the fresh start and this month has been no different, for me. Which this whole year has been as a weekly adventure in learning. Which each phase of learning there is a whole progression. Let me walk you thought mine:

- Feeling the discomfort or realizing something isn't working.

- Acknowledging the discomfort - admitting a problem exists

- Asking myself questions - What is trying to emerge? What can I learn here? What is the conflict?

- Gaining perspectives for insight - reaching out to people I respect and trust, community

- Getting quiet to allow time to listen - either though medication or journaling

- Arriving at a conclusion or solution to my discomfort.

For example, a discomfort in my kitchen tends to be that my children are not helpful in their duties or chores which makes me tend to want to yell at them and no one likes that. So I acknowledge that I'm not happy and would like this to change. I think what can I do. I research/remember what tactics or options that have worked - accountability for their actions and reward for positive behavior.

What in the world happens in March

Will you be celebrating St. Patrick on March 17th?

This is the anniversary of the patron saint of Ireland death has been observed a religious holiday for over 1,000 years! Fun fact, the custom to drink alcohol on this day began from the lifting of christian lent restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol to honor this holiday has encouraged and propagated the holiday's tradition of alcohol consumption.

Fo me, March is a time to start getting ready for warmer temps with spring skiing, which is my favorite skiing by far. Not freezing cold, sun is shining, snow is soft (and a killer quad workout).

Junior Update:

Our Sun Conure has been warming up to us a lot this past month and even flew and landed on my shoulder!!! I’m so excited for this first. We are trying to coax him to fly from him cage and land on our shoulders on command but I think we’ve got a few more weeks before he grasps that concept. He is only still warming up to our non-beak or wing species.

I am also discovering more and more foods he likes to eat. Pineapple and Brussel Sprouts are his new favorites. Kale was a good one too but he likes to eat close to the rib/or spine of the plant and when he does its more he is eating whatever is on the surface off. Probably those tiny microbes we cant see.

THATS ALL FOR NOW FOLKS! WISHING YOU HAVE A GREAT MONTH!

And may the love be with you 😘
