April Showers

〰️

April Showers 〰️

Try these affirmations to assist in the flow of letting go.

So when we think of our lives, how can we also harness this power to transform our being?

When the water rushes, it takes whatever doesn’t belong with it.

Allow these showers of April to do the same. Take away whatever is no longer serving you. Let it go. Wash it away. Thoughts, beliefs, behavior patterns

Let it go and be comforted to know that when you do, flowers will bloom.

Yes, we have times of discomfort, times when it feels like life is always raining on our parade, but in truth, this is temporary. A short season that passes as quickly as it started. We only have to be willing to go with the change. If you’re not welcoming of it (cuz really when do we like to change), at the very least you can be in acceptance of it. Accept that a change is taking place and thought it is uncomfortable at the moment, warmer times are coming. Accept that it will happen whether you want it to or not, accept that it will happen if you’re aware of it or not. After all, you have lived thought all your worst days. You are still here.

What changes? It is different for everyone. Often we are not aware of all the changes happening, but if you feel it and want to know, the best thing you can do is ask the universe/god for guidance. Saying out loud “Please make me aware of what I need to change.” “What change is wanting to be expressed that will serve my highest and greatest good.” Ask and then wait for the universe to respond. It always will in some way or form, you just have to be open and aware to receive it.

Or if you need some recommendations, I’ve listed a couple below;

Thing is without the rain, without the challenge to change, the beautiful flower will never bloom. Without rain there wont be sufficient water/nutrients to build the plants strength. Without rain…. well, how many flowers do you see growing in the desert? Precisely.

Flushing your Lymph -

Our bodies are 67% water and one form of this aqueous substance is in the form of Lymph and it is contained within our lymphatic system. This system is an intricate web of lymph nodes and vessels, glands, the spleen, the thymus gland, and the tonsils that hat spans throughout our body all with the function of transporting lymph fluids containing toxins, biological waste, different types of proteins and fats throughout the body. It is a huge part immune system that helps protect us from infection, disease get AND gets rid of the toxic matter that accumulates in the body, which is so key to maintaining a healthy, optimal functioning body.

To read a full overview, Check out this Blog Post, but cliff-notes is:

Unfortunately, sometimes the lymphatic system can get out of balance. Often it occurs in people with nutrient deficiencies, high intake of processed foods, and a lack of physical activity. Too much stain (from external or internal toxins) can cause the lymphatic system to get clogged and does not function properly.

The good news is, there are things that you can do right now to help ensure that Lymph fluid flows and functionings at its best.

  1. Engage in Movement or Yoga to promote blood flow. Activating skeletal muscles also stimulates lymphatic vessels to contract promoting movement.

  2. Lymphatic Massage - Using your hands to move alone certtain lymphatic pathways helps stimulate the movement within the pathway. Best done by a professional to you, but if you’re like me, you’ll try to do it yourself first.

  3. Dry Brushing - This is similar to massage in that it is stimulating the movement of lymph in motions upward towards the heart where it can reenter the normal blood flow. But using a soft bristle brush you also get an exfoliating action which also helps release toxins that could be trying to escape your skin (the bodies largest detoxifying organ).

  4. Deep, Diaphragmatic Breathing - The pumping action of taking a deep breath puts pressure on our thoracic duct which is the return highway for lymph back to the heart.

  5. Optimal Nutrition - Simply by decreasing your intake of foods that can carry a toxic load, you will be doing your body a great service. Avoid: Avoiding processed foods, conventional raised animals, sugar & artificial sweeteners, GM produce sprayed with glyphosate…
Consume: Foods proven to assist in lymphatic function, garlic, green leafy veggies, berries, nuts & seeds. Optimize: with several teas like echinacea, goldenseal and parsley.

  6. Hot-Cold Showers - The hot water opens capillaries up then a rush of cold causes an adrenaline rush and also a quick close forcing a pump like action to move lymphatic fluid.

Good for the Spirit

Faith. When I mention faith what do you think of? Do you see a cross and conjure feeling of religious belief in a higher power?

To me, Faith is a form of Trust. Trust in a belief without having physical proof or scientific evidence.

My faith is that the universe is always on my side, working for me and for the greatest goods. Faith to know that I don’t need to have all the understanding in order to have peace in my heart because something greater is working on my behalf. Faith that this world is full of love.

Where does faith come from?

For me, its a feeling that comes from inside. An inner knowing of sorts. Sure I’ve read about it and herd pastors preach about faith in God and the divine, but until I started on a personal growth journey and started becoming aware of my being did I start to see how faith was growing inside of me. I started to see little miracles happen to me, I call them little kisses from the universe and these kisses helped me develop and understanding the full power that lies in faith. Maybe these kisses were the proof I needed to have more belief and trust. Or maybe I just became focused on faith as the signs of proof started to appear more for me. “Where focus goes, energy flows” after all. My kisses were small and simple from thinking of a song and having it play next on the radio, or big like being shown a lesson/meaning that I had been praying for.

Applying Faith

Thing is, I mentioned before about the need to “let go,” but to truly let go, we must also have faith. Faith that in the act of letting go with not just be in vane. A pardon of missteps against us, a forgiveness of sorts.

When we let go, it’s more than just that. Letting go and then have faith that you still be okay. Let go and trust that you are still safe and have love. Let go and have faith that the highest and greatest good is coming to you.

May flowers wont really bloom without adequate sunshine. Great for the earth but for those of us that are trying to ward off the signs of aging…. not so good. Over our evolution scientist have developed Sun Screens that help to protect the body from the suns harmful UVA and UVB Rays.

The bad news is that most sun screens are filled with toxic and endocrine disrupting ingredients that…. well if you are outside a lot in the warm months, you’ve got a consistent application of these toxic compounds, compounds that build-up in our bodies and over time cause an impact on overall health. Research has indicated some terrible repercussions, one of note is with Oxybenzone (one of the most commonly used sunscreen ingredients), its adverse effects are oxidative stress and cell death to human keratinocytes cells [s] it also causes allergic skin reactions, behaves like an endocrine disruptor and is potentially of greater harm to children [s].

So maybe you are better going without these chemicals, constantly wearing physical barrier from the sun OR maybe you could find a sun protection product that aligns with your desire to no introduce harmful additives into your and your families bodies.

For my full report on Sunscreens check out this blog post

For the cliff notes, of the 2 forms of sun screen, 1. Chemical (absorbed by the skin) 2. Physical and Mineral (sit on the skin surface)), Mineral is less damaging to our bodies and microbiomes.

Typical Ingredients in Mineral/Physical sunblock are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

*Affiliate Disclosure: I do have and affiliation to Arbonne Products. If you purchase something from my link, I will receive a small commission from the sale.  This comes at no cost to you, but is paid by the company.  I do not take becoming an affiliate with any company lightly, I do it because I believe in the companies integrity and their products.

For a personal recommendation on which mineral sunscreen to use, My vote is with Arbonne’s New FunSun Mineral Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30. To use, Apply it evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure. and reapply after 2 hours or after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating. It goes on silky and blends nicely to leave skin looking dewy with a hint of iridescence — and without the chalky white cast!

Its active ingredient is 19% Zinc Oxide for broad spectrum sun protection that delivers a sheer, translucent appearance and Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax for product adherence to skin and water resistance benefits. Also camellia sinensis leaf extract and aloe barbadensis leaf juice to soothe with hydration, so your skin feels as good as it looks.
